To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
For your convenience, drop-off appointments are available. A ‘drop-off’ means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours. Usually we will ask you to drop off sometime in the morning so our doctors can examine the patient in between appointments or at the time purposely reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor is done, he or she will give you a call to go over the diagnosis and to give you discharge instructions.
For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. We recommend that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.
Payment is due at the time services are rendered. If you have any special considerations regarding payment, please discuss this with the receptionist prior to seeing the doctor. We accept a variety of payment options, including cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, CareCredit, and ScratchPay.
CareCredit is a personal line of credit for healthcare, both human and veterinary, that works like a credit card. To apply, click here for the CareCredit Online Credit Application or call their 24/7 phone number at 1-800-365-8295.
ScratchPay offers financing options ranging from $200 – $10,000. Visit scratchpay.com or text PAY to 213-296-0817 to apply.
Pet insurance is also a viable option for many pet owners, helping them pay the cost of unexpected veterinary care. There are a variety of pet insurance companies and plans. We have partnered with Trupanion to provide in-hospital, same-day insurance claims to make payments automatic and easy for everyone. Please contact us today if you have any questions regarding pet insurance.
At West Forsyth Animal Hospital, we take pride in being your Veterinarian and see our role as an integral part in providing healthcare to your pet. We understand and respect the right of pet owners to order their pet’s medication from a pharmacy that they know and prefer. We have experienced many issues with online pharmacies, such as medications not being dispensed correctly or as directed, medications being approved or denied without our consent, and manufacturers not backing their products when purchased from outside pharmacies. These events and others have led to the creation of a pharmacy policy. We do understand that getting medication for your pet is important, and we want to do what we can to help you. We are offering the following options to help with this:
If you choose to use an outside pharmacy, we can provide a written prescription for you to pick up if we have recently examined your pet and the particular medication or product is appropriate. You can send the prescription to the pharmacy that you prefer, and they can process that request for you. We do not charge a fee for writing prescriptions for patients.
If you choose an internet source, we advise you to copy your script and mail them the original. We recommend this process for the same reason we will only provide written prescriptions to you and why we do not respond to fax requests or telephone calls from internet companies – We require our physical prescription form to be used so it can be traced back and authenticated in the event of medication error, failure or reaction occurs. Some guarantees made by manufacturers regarding their products are null and void (not honored) if their products are purchased through non-approved channels. This includes the guaranteed reimbursement for heartworm/intestinal parasite claims if your pet contracts heartworms or specific parasites while on prevention.
Pharmaceuticals manufactured and labeled for use in other countries (Australia, New Zealand) have been illegally diverted and sold through some internet sources in the United States. In addition, counterfeit medications, preventatives, and products have been produced and sold to unsuspecting consumers. The FDA-CVM has documented these problems with the use of some internet sources. www.fda.gov.
Note: Please allow up to 24-hours once requested so that we can ensure that the prescription is correct for your pet.
As a small business we do our best to keep our costs as competitive as we can. If you want the convenience of ordering online and getting your medications shipped directly to you, but you want to keep the peace of mind of knowing your pets medications are coming from a reputable source, we have an online pharmacy with our distributor who works directly with the drug manufacturers. You can find the link to our online pharmacy using the “Shop Now” link located on our website. If you would prefer, we can also send you a pre-approved digital prescription which will make your online ordering experience even easier.
All of the products in our online pharmacy come with the following benefits:
